Kingdom of ice
Series: Kingdom of ice
Locations: Alps
History of the series
INTRODUCTION :
This photo series was conceived during the complete crossing of the Alpine Arc.
On foot from Monaco to Ljubljana, 2324km were covered in an environment full of surprises and constantly changing natural surroundings.
For 4 months, accompanied by my great travel friend Nicolas Thiers, we discovered and conquered the great Alpine reliefs.
Still gigantic at times, Alpine glaciers are on all fronts. From the Massif de la Vanoise to the Bernese Alps, via Mont Blanc and the Pennine Alps, glaciers have been our daily bread on certain stretches, sometimes falling from the peaks of the French, Swiss and Italian 4000s. 11 of them will remain particularly fresh in our memories, including the most imposing of all: the Aletschgletscher.
We're well aware of how lucky we've been to be able to contemplate and even survey these giants of ice, but their time is unfortunately limited, perhaps only a few hundred years.
The ''Royaume des Glaces'' series is a sharing for the present, but also for posterity.
